Recently a proposed amendment to the Planning & Zoning Law was published, regarding Consent Amended Assessment. The proposed amendment enables the Local Committee and the taxpayer to reach an agreement on a betterment levy assessment if the anticipated levy obligation is relatively low – no higher than NIS 70,000 according to the Local Committee.
In addition, as discussed in a previous update, an interesting meeting took place in the Internal Affairs and Environment Committee at the Knesset on the creation of “public floors” in buildings – which is the allocation of public built-up space in commercial buildings. The Committee’s last meeting took place on November 27, 2018 which was followed by a tour around Tel Aviv in which the Mayor of Tel Aviv Ron Huldai participated. We are following these hearings and we recommend that our readers do the same.
