Israeli Court seeks to align municipal tax categories with modern labor methods
Recently, a District Court rendered a decision in which it held that a business which provides customers with cutting, packaging and delivery services (pursuant to the customers’ orders) falls under the definition and should be classified as an “industry”. The Court rejected the municipality’s position that such services should be classified as “business” – a category with a municipal tax rate that is approximately double the rate of the “industry” category.
