We are pleased to provide you with important aviation law updates.
Our firm successfully represented Wizz Air, a Hungarian low-cost carrier, in an appeal before the Supreme Court requesting that the District Court’s rejection of the class action filed against Wizz Air in Israel be overturned.
The District Court rejected the arguments that Wizz should refund its passengers with airport taxes for unflown flights, and found that Wizz’s policy of not collecting airport taxes, and consequently not refunding them, to be both valid and legal.
An appeal against this decision was brought before the Supreme Court, which upheld the District Court’s judgment, fully endorsing Wizz’s arguments. This landmark ruling is precedent-setting and has significant implications for the aviation and tourism sectors in Israel.
