Mr. Ovadia Kedmi is a Consultant in our Aviation & Maritime and Hotels & Tourism practices. Mr. Kedmi specializes in a wide range of areas in connection with international aviation law, tourism and hotels.
Within this framework, Mr. Kedmi provides comprehensive legal assistance and advice to the practice's clients, including individuals, multinational corporations, local and foreign airlines and insurance companies, in aviation and maritime disputes, intellectual property rights, contractual and commercial claims, significant class actions, and more.
Mr. Kedmi served as the legal counsel to the Ministry of Tourism from 1988-2018. As part of his role, he provided ongoing legal counsel to the Minister and the Ministry of Tourism; oversaw tourism legislation, regulation and enforcement; accompanied agreements for tourism cooperation with countries and international organizations; acted to encourage capital investments in tourism and allocate land for the establishment of tourism ventures; was in charge of tenders and contracts in Israel and abroad; and more.
Mr. Kedmi is a member of the Operations Committee and the Executive Committee of the Israel Youth Hostels Association (IYHS).
In addition, Mr. Kedmi served as chairman of the board of directors of the Dead Sea Development Company Ltd. for about a decade; served as a director of the Tourism Development Company; and was a member of the Negev Regional Development Board.
In 2016, Mr. Kedmi was named Tourism Man of the Year by the Tourism Industry at the International Mediterranean Tourism Market Fair (IMTM).
